Grants are available to schools or organisations for projects that :
directly benefit 11-24 year olds
take place within the former borough of Taunton Deane
Projects must focus on at least one of the following criteria:
improving educational attainment
music / other arts
sport / outward bound activities
Unless you are a school, you will need to meet a number of requirements around governance, finance and safeguarding to be considered for a grant.
For the majority of applications we will expect you follow the minimum standards required by Somerset Community Foundation who administer our grants programme. Further details can be found here.
When we receive an application we will ask you to provide the following:
your governing document
details of your trustees or committee members
your most recent accounts
evidence of a bank account in your group's name which requires at least two unrelated signatories to authorise transactions
your safeguarding policy
Previous Capital grants awarded include a grant of £45k to COACH (Centre for Outdoor Activity & Community Hub), a charity existing to promote community values in a sporting and educational environment.
